My mothers Hp-pavilion notebook 14" won't start, hardreset not working, powerbutton blinks exactly 12 times when held down for a reset. the powerlight at the righthand side (which glow green when battery is full and red when in need of Power) is only blinking White when Power button is pressed down as the only sign of Life. No other LED lights glow. It has frozen sometimes in the past, but was re-started. Updated whenever the computer asked for it.
Have the computer gotten overheated or what? Can't start the computer so I can do a BIOS etc. What to do? The computer is only 21 months old. Is it dead? Is the hardware melted?
No detachable battery, the hp support robot was of no help.

Most likely, the laptop is experiencing a major hardware failure. You MIGHT be able to run hardware diagnostics by pressing the Esc key repeatedly and then, when the HP Startup Menu appears, select Diagnostics (usually F2) and let it run.
If that does not work, then there is nothing more you can do personally.
I wish we could help you from here, but we can't. The problem is that we HERE, have no way of diagnosing or repairing hardware problems. And, with the PC not even starting, even HP Tech Support, who have the authority and tools to REMOTE into a PC across the Internet, can not access your PC.
Software failures invariably present with error messages of some kind on the screen, such as No Operating System or No Boot Device. In these cases, reinstalling the OS from media such as DVD or USB fixes the first; rebuilding the boot records using various utilities fixes the second. But any time a laptop simply refuses to turn on, that tend to indicate a serious hardware failure.
If your PC is still under the original one-year HP warranty, or if you have purchased an extended warranty from HP and this is still valid, then you should contact HP Customer Support to see about having it repaired or replaced under warranty.

Thank you for your quick reply.
This is more of an update, but I feel as though I should name my mothers computer Jesus, because it has risen again from the grave, and all it really needed was a good 48h rest, with no power connected to it. It was all very strange and we have no idea how or what happened to it. Mother was Really happy when it turned on.
If the problem arise again I will try and see what happens when pressing esc and f2.
