Hi @melochupas,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Pavilion DV7 not displaying the USB option in the boot menu!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check USB Boot Support: Ensure that the USB boot option is enabled in the BIOS. You might want to revisit the BIOS settings to confirm this.

USB Device Compatibility: Make sure the USB device you are using is bootable and properly formatted. If the USB device is not set up as a bootable drive, the system may not recognize it during startup.

USB Port Functionality: Try plugging the USB device into different USB ports on your laptop, as certain ports might have issues recognizing bootable devices.

Update BIOS: Verify if there is a BIOS update available for your HP Pavilion DV7, as updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with bootable devices.

Secure Boot Settings: Check if Secure Boot is enabled in the BIOS. Sometimes, Secure Boot needs to be disabled to allow booting from external devices such as USB sticks.

UEFI/Legacy Boot Settings: If your system is set to UEFI mode, you may need to switch to Legacy mode, depending on the format of the bootable USB device.

Check Boot Order: Ensure that the boot order in the BIOS includes the USB device as a potential boot source, and try reordering it to have USB as the first boot option.

I hope this helps.
