Hi @Diydiyan24,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Do not worry, I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are facing issues with fingerprint sign-in.

Have you made any changes to your hardware or Software (OS) on your unit?

If the fingerprint sensor on your HP Pavilion 14 Laptop PC 14-Dv2000 (4Z019AV) isn't working, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Update Drivers: Ensure that your fingerprint sensor driver is up to date. Go to the HP website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest fingerprint sensor driver available for your operating system.

Check Biometric Settings: Go to your computer's settings, then to the Accounts or Sign-in options. Look for Windows Hello or Biometric settings and ensure that fingerprint login is enabled.

Clean the Sensor: Sometimes, dust or dirt can affect the sensor's performance. Gently clean the fingerprint sensor with a soft, dry cloth to remove any debris.

Restart the Laptop: A simple restart can sometimes fix temporary issues with hardware components, including the fingerprint sensor.

BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop model on the HP website. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve hardware-related issues. Click here

Hardware Check: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware problem with the fingerprint sensor itself. Contact HP customer support or take your laptop to an authorized service center for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
