Hi @laptoper678,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you encountered a technical issue while trying to launch Fortnite on your HP Pavilion laptop with a Ryzen 7 7840U processor. There could be various reasons for this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the official website of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) to download and install the latest graphics drivers for your Ryzen 7 7840U processor.
Check System Requirements: Make sure that your laptop meets the minimum system requirements for running Fortnite. You can find the system requirements on the official Fortnite website.
Monitor Temperatures: Overheating could cause such issues. Use monitoring tools to check the temperature of your laptop components, especially the CPU and GPU, while running Fortnite. If temperatures are too high, consider improving the cooling system or reducing in-game graphics settings.
Verify Game Files: If the game files are corrupted, it can lead to launch issues. Verify the integrity of the Fortnite game files through the game launcher or platform (Epic Games Launcher, for example).
Disable Background Applications: Close any unnecessary background applications before launching Fortnite. Some applications may conflict with the game or use up system resources.
Power Settings: Check your laptop's power settings to ensure it is not set to a power-saving mode that might limit performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
