HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n109dx (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

laptop is plugged in to charge then as soon as the power button is clicked it will begin to boot up but the charging light will blink white, then after a moment or two of loading it will just completely turn off and the charging light will turn off. when plugged back in the light will come back on orange (as in its charging) and then the process will repeat.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

I see that HP ENVY Notebook is not booting up and power button functions are not responding correctly,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time it worked fine?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?

While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

Perform a hard reset:

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.

3) Remove the Battery.

4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer.

6) Try to turn on the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
