Hi @CONTECSYSTEMS, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like your HP Omen laptop (13th Gen i7, RTX 4080) encountered a CMOS error and now won't power on at all—no lights, no response. Since your adapter is working fine, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to try to revive it:
Perform a Hard Reset
Since your laptop is not showing any power signs, try a hard reset:
- Disconnect everything (charger, external peripherals, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds.
- Release it and try powering it on again.
- If it doesn't work, try connecting the charger and pressing the power button again.
Check for CMOS Battery Issues
Since the issue started after a CMOS error, it's possible that:
- The CMOS battery is dead or improperly seated.
- The BIOS settings got corrupted.
Try Resetting the CMOS Battery (if accessible):
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
- Disconnect the internal CMOS battery (if accessible, it's usually a coin-cell battery inside).
- Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- Reconnect everything and try turning it on.
If you cannot access the CMOS battery, the RTC Reset Method (below) might help.
Perform an RTC Reset (Real-Time Clock Reset)
HP laptops have a method to reset the CMOS settings without opening the laptop:
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for 40 seconds.
- Reconnect the adapter and try turning the laptop on.
Some models also support an RTC reset using a special keyboard combination:
- Press and hold Win + B, then power on the laptop while holding the keys.
- If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions.
Check for Motherboard Issues
Since no lights are coming on, it could indicate:
- A dead motherboard (possibly due to BIOS corruption after the CMOS error).
- A faulty DC jack or power circuit.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
