I have never owned a computer before. At age 86, I have purchased an HP laptop. When I turn the computer on, a beautiful photo appears on the screen. The photo changes every few days. This morning a beautiful photo of the Taj Mahal appeared. Is there a way I can save that photo and make it the photo that will ALWAYS appear when I turn the computer on. I am not sure what operating system is on this computer. How can I find out? (think it is a type of Microsoft 10) I am determined to teach this old dog new tricks!

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
-
In Windows, search for and open Background image settings. You can also right-click an open area of the desktop and then select Personalize.
-
To change the image or color that displays in the background, select Picture, Solid color, or Slideshow from the drop-down menu. Click Browse to select one of your pictures or a picture folder for a slideshow.
-
To change the way the picture displays on the background, select Fill, Fit, Stretch, Tile, Center, or Span from the drop-down menu.
Changes take effect immediately.
Change text color, background, border appearance and more in Windows 10.
-
In Windows, search for and open Themes and related settings. You can also right-click an open area of the desktop, and then select Personalize.
-
In the Personalization window, select Background, Colors, Lock Screen, Themes, Fonts, Start, or Taskbar to open the corresponding settings window.
-
Adjust the settings.
Changes take effect immediately.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
