Okay so my laptop boots up and goes straight to the hp bios screen which says
"the system bios recovery failed
Bios image file specified did not pass validation"

I've looked for relevant stuff on this forum and it's either way over my head or didn't work.

I tried downloading the latest bios file from the hp website on one of the occasions that my laptop managed to get past this screen for some unknown reason however at some point it needs to restart and when it does we're back to square one.

Help would be much appreciated, as you can tell I'm not exactly the most computer savvy but I'm capable.

@GregRyan

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I Understand you are are getting the error message - "bios image file specified did not pass validation",

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you attempted a BIOS recovery to resolve this concern?

If you haven't, Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Restoring the BIOS that should help you to overcome this difficulty.

Let me know how that pans out

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask any other queries as  well,

Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

I have tried this, thank you.

I tried the windows + B key + power key for 1-3 seconds which resulted in the hp bios update screen saying "bios image file specified did not pass validation" no beeps etc just the same thing happening as before.

I also tried, on the one in a hundred random times when it restarts and it booted up enabling me to log in etc and continue as normal (if it restarts or turns fully off then we are back to the restarting followed by the bios image file blah blah screen), downloading the newest form of the bios image file and installing that.

I also thought that this new bios image file may have been the actual issue so tried installing the older bios image file which also didn't work.

For information's sake the issue is on a hp envy 15_ae110na.

Thank you for your help,
Greg
