Hi

my laptop is hp omen 16

I5 13800

GPU 4050

for some reason, i removed the battery and  after that, I put it on again

now i want to turn on my laptop...when i press the power button, powers light is on and the caps lock light starts to blink (3 long, 3 short)

i try it  again by holding the (b or v and win key) on my keyboard and pressing power, in this time caps look light doesn't on...just the powers light is on and after a while, there is no change

I'm so sad what happened and what should i do??

i turned it off and after 30 minutes turned on again after 40 seconds finally, I saw my bios is raised up  and Windows get started

Hi @michaelart,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your HP Omen 16 is exhibiting a specific blink code when you try to power it on. The 3 long, 3 short blink code on the Caps Lock LED typically indicates a memory issue. This could be caused by a variety of factors, including a loose memory module or a failure in the memory module itself.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Re-seat the Memory Modules:

  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
  • Remove the back cover to access the memory modules.
  • Carefully re-seat the memory modules by removing them and then placing them back in their slots securely.

Try with One Memory Module:

  • If your laptop has multiple memory modules, try using just one at a time. This can help identify if one of the modules is faulty.

Check for Loose Connections:

  • Make sure all other internal connections, such as hard drive and other peripherals, are securely connected.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
  • Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning on the laptop.

Update BIOS:

  • If you manage to boot into Windows, consider updating the BIOS to the latest version provided by HP. This can often resolve compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
