This solution does not work !

Sorry to hear that, there must be more than one issue causing this,  I have read of people having to un and relatch the tablet to get it working again. I did notice just the other day either from the HP support icon or windows updae some optional updates one of which was win 8.1 drivers. The fix the other person described did work for me except on occasion I would have to hit ctrl to "locate cursor", to bring the curser back to life (this on the control page, mouse and pointer options. But thinking about it now, I haven't had to do that since the latest 8..1 driver update. I'd try that 1st, then contact HP support. Sorry I can't be of more help, but once I got mine going I put the issue behind me. Best of luck I really like my split X2 since I got past the agriavion of the flaky touchpad. Still don't know why they soldered the ram in instead of using a dimm socket, for upgrades or more importantly repairs.

I have been unable to resolve this sticking freezing trackpad for months despite many calls to HP tech support. Today I'm sending it back to HP. They say they're going to replace the Synaptics touch pad. I don't have much hope that this will work but at least they're trying something.

I have the same trackpad freezing issues.

I have tried the power management trick mentioned on page 1 however I only have one Generic USB hub listed under device managere so I am unable to completee the possible solution.

Any suggestions?

Hi DJC1,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I saw your post regarding the problems with the TouchPad freezing. Did you try what DavidPK suggest with the one Generic USB Hub? Also see if you have an entry under Mice and other pointing devices in your Device Manager and look for Synaptics TouchPad and do the same thing as DavidPK suggest. What operating system are you using? What is your product number?

Hi DJC1,

Try this version of the Synaptics TouchPad driver. It is a slightly older version then what you are using but it is what is listed under your model. Give that a try and let me know how it goes.
