I've got an issue where I change my wifi card from intel AC 3168 to AC 7265 but when I first boot with AC7265 the usb ports stopped working and the wifi card cannot be enabled although it's detected by the system when I looked into device manager.

After rebooting the laptop it's just stuck in boot where you have the HP logo and spinning load with little to no activity on the hard drive. I've tried going into the troubleshoot boot mode and recovered to an ealier stage which leads me back to the first boot with the same problems. Currently I have removed the wifi card and I hope I could use it soon.

Hey there! @SWChooi, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!

I understand after upgrading wireless card you have issues booting into your PC.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

As you mentioned after upgrading wireless card you have issues booting into your PC.

It looks like a compatibility issue with your PC.

If the wireless card you replaced does not match the white list in BIOS. You will have issues booting into your PC.

However, you can try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Also, you can use a external AC wireless card this would be cheaper than upgrading the wireless card.

You can try buying Edimax EW-7811UTC which delivers speeds of up to 433Mbps at 5GHz.

First off, thanks for the reply.

Secondly, I've tried to do as you've said but to no success, the same issue came up. Is there no way to remove the white list or add it the white list? If not, then I guess I'll just stick to what I have.

Thanks again.
