unable to restart

hello. my issue is that i've recently installed a new internal  ssd to boost my system's speed. (samsung evo 870). everything works fine except for restart. system seems unable to restart. it doesn't finf the hard drive to read the os! and this only happens when i try to restart! my bios version is 1.6.0.0. and i am afraid of updating it!

Given the date of your post, I would have expected someone to respond to it before this -- but since that has not happened, I will take a shot at it ...

OK, so you have an HDD that is the boot disk and contains Windows, and you have an SSD that is extra storage -- right?

You said the PC only fails on restart -- this can mean lots of different things.  Does it fail when you turn the laptop off and then do a "cold start" as well? Or does it only fail when you awaken the laptop from sleep or hibernation?

hi. thanks for your reply. actually i have the windows running on the ssd drive that i have recently installed. i had to remove the DVD rom to make room for the ssd. everything works fine except for when i try to restart. system isn't able to restart there's error: "network not found "  so i have to push the power button and shut the system down!

There are two different issues here.

First, the optical drive connection in a laptop is low speed, not designed for an HDD, and certainly not for an SSD.  I am surprised it even works.  So, I am not surprised that you have restart issues.  There is no way I know, using this connector, to fix this issue.

Second, the error message means you have the BIOS/UEFI set up to do a PXE boot -- boot from the network -- and when you do that, the boot loader will try to connect to the network and download a boot image.  Since there is probably no such image, you are basically waiting for that to time out and that will take a while.  You need to go into the BIOS/UEFI options and change the boot to your SSD -- but if it does not allow you to do that, that relates back to the optical drive connection not being suitable for an SSD.
