Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi, I recently purchased the new HP notebook (2 weeks ago), using it only for school work and chatting with my friends. However, I was recently using the computer normally when it crashes for no reason, giving me an error and freezing. When I try to restart it it gives me an error saying "unmountable boot volume." Shortly after it restarts again, going to a screen that has the HP logo that says "preparing automatic repair" and it gets stuck there.

I don't have a disc of windows, nor the means to get a USB or another pc to get another copy. I'm a college student and I need my computer to start working again, there's no reason it should do this after 2 weeks of MODERATE use. please help.

Is that really the only way, a system recovery? I have important documents and textbooks saved on my computer that would be a pain to lose 😕

You could create a Windows 10 on usb flash drive using the free Download tool at MS and try to Repair:

As I said I don't have access to a USB at the moment. Can anyone explain why an error like this happens?

Immediately after powering on start tapping the Esc key. This will open a menu where F2 System Diagnostics is an option. Tap F2 key and run the tests.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Unfortunately I must send it in for repairs, nothing I could have done on my own would fix it. Rather disappointed, but oh well, c'est la vie.
