HP 450 G10 Probook. A message appeared onscreen when powering off the laptop. It stated there were 7 firmware updates that needed to be installed. I had not choice but to accept the updates. On update 3, USB-C controller update, the machine hung up for 12 hours. Nothing I could do would dismiss the update. I could not Ctrl-Alt-Del, there was no taskbar onscreen, I could not power down. I don't recall the keystroke I used, but I was able to move past the update and a graphic of a USB-C appeared. Shortly thereafter, an error msg. appeared. It would immediately reboot and went right back to the graphic, then the error msg. I tried a hard power off several times without success. Eventually, after an hour and several tries, I was able to power down the machine. I let it cool and finally booted the machine. It took an inordinate amount of time but it booted without the update msg. or error msg. Disappointing for an HP and my only recourse is a chat box. Product quality and customer support is nose diving across the marketplace. Talking to a knowledgeable individual on the phone is a corner that should not have been cut.
