Hi @JosMom,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet printer is able to print other documents but is having trouble with printing pictures from your Android device, there could be a few potential issues causing this problem. Here are some steps you can try to resolve it.
- Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your Android device is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your HP DeskJet printer.
- Update Printer Firmware: Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP DeskJet printer and update it if necessary.
- Restart Printer and Android Device: Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and your Android device can resolve connectivity issues.
- Clear Printer Queue: There might be a stuck print job in the printer queue. Go to the print queue on your Android device and cancel any pending print jobs.
- Print Using HP Smart App: Try using the HP Smart app on your Android device to print the picture. This app is designed to work seamlessly with HP printers and may help resolve any compatibility issues.
- Check Printer Settings: Make sure that the printer settings on your Android device are configured correctly for photo printing. Ensure that you have selected the correct paper size and type for the photo.
- Update Printer Drivers: If you're using a third-party printing app on your Android device, make sure it's up-to-date. Also, ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Android device.
- Check Printer Compatibility: Ensure that the picture you're trying to print is in a compatible file format (e.g., JPEG, PNG) and meets the printer's specifications for size and resolution.
- Reset Printer Settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your HP DeskJet printer to its factory settings. Be cautious, as this will erase any custom settings you've configured on the printer.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of not being able to print pictures from your Android device to your HP DeskJet printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
