So, here is thd problem: I rather blinbdly clicked an update that Microsoft was pushing. It turns out it was for something called

HP Inc. - Firmware - 1.12.0.0

It updated my Bios. In what manner i do not know, but oddly i have not been able to establish an internet connection ever since.

The latest BIOS from HP is 1.11. When I try downgrading to 1.11, the 1.12 update automatically reasserts itself and forces the update. **bleep**?

I think this must be related to this vulnerability issued by AMD:

AMD Client UEFI Firmware January 2023 Security Updates | HP® Customer Support

Not sure how this would affect your internet connection though. Sounds like it must be just coincidence.
