won't boot; replace CMOS battery?

HP Recommended
15-ac132ds

My friend gave me this laptop to fix if possible.

I took out the battery and connected laptop just to AC.

Using 3rd-party charger.

Light next to power jack is white when charger is plugged in.

Laptop will not boot.

No sounds. Silence.

Is it worth it disassemble to replace the CMOS battery?

I know with Dell laptops non-Dell chargers won't charge the battery but they would at least provide power for the laptop.

Are HP laptops different ?
