Hello, I just bought a second hand laptop and the battery is stuck on 0% and only works when a charger is plugged in. I’ve tried to update the laptop and update the battery drivers but nothing works.
How do I know if it is my battery that is dead or if my charger is faulty? I want to replace the broken one but I’m not sure which is the issue.

Please, please tell me why you did not identify your notebook with an HP product number and a product name?
When you do not identify your notebook, you tie our hands behind our backs. Help us to help you.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue
Type in msinfo32 and press enter.
The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.
The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.
The battery is most likely at the end of its service life, as in probably dead, if you are able to use the power adapter and boot to Windows OS.
