@hello5551, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If the ‘0’, ‘-’, and one of the keys above them on your HP OmniBook X are difficult to press, there could be a few possible causes and solutions to this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check for Debris:

  • Sometimes dust or small particles can accumulate under the keys, making them hard to press. Turn off your laptop, turn it upside down, and gently shake it or use compressed air to remove any debris underneath the keys.

Inspect the Key Mechanism:

  • Carefully pop off the problematic keys by gently prying them from the side, using a plastic tool, to check if anything is obstructing the key mechanism or if the key cap needs to be adjusted.

Software Issues:

  • Ensure that there are no settings or software updates impacting the keyboard function. Check for driver updates or any system updates that might need to be installed.

Keyboard Replacement:

  • If the problem persists, the internal keyboard components may be damaged, requiring a more in-depth repair or replacement. In this case, it may be necessary to contact HP Support or a professional technician to replace the keyboard module.

Maintenance Tips

  • Regularly clean your keyboard to prevent dirt build-up.
  • Avoid eating or drinking near your laptop to minimize the chance of spills.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
