@LeventisDrago,

A 3F0 error can be triggered by a failing or failed hard drive so if you haven't performed a hard drive test, do so first.

Turn on the notebook and immediately tap the F2 key rapidly for a diagnostic test and run a SMART check and long (extensive) DST test.

If the tests don't generate a failure code, you can then try to reinstall Windows. your drivers download site lists Intel RST storage controller driver so most likely the Windows installer needs to have this driver to detect the hard drive. Let us know how the test turns out.

I tried both diagnostic tests and they both said no hard drive installed. I downloaded the drivers, but I had to download them on a different computer. I only chose the USB as the download path, so the file is just sitting there. Thank you for the reply.

The "no hard drive installed" message means that the tests couldn't detect the hard drive. Most likely, it is dead, or it has a loose connection. Your notebook has an M.2 NVMe SSD, and it's highly unlikely that it has a loose connection, but you can remove the back cover and reseat the M.2 NVMe if you wish. Page 33 of your service manual describes how to remove an M.2 SSD.

Most likely, you need a new M.2 NVMe. What you need is an M.2 NVMe SSD gen 3x4 2280 of your preferred size. You need something like this.

Once you extract drivers from a downloaded IRST driver package and copy them to a Windows installation usb drive, you can install Windows on a new drive.

Hello,
It sounds like you’re encountering a common issue during Windows installation. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the “no signed device drivers were found” error on your HP 15-dy1086nr laptop:

  1. Check USB Port and Media: Sometimes, the issue can be due to a faulty USB port or installation media. Try using a different USB port or creating a new bootable USB drive using the Windows Media Creation Tool.

  2. Load Drivers Manually:

    • Download the necessary storage drivers from the HP Support page for your model.
    • Extract the drivers to a separate USB drive.
    • During the Windows installation, when you encounter the error, click on “Load Driver” and browse to the location of the extracted drivers on the USB drive.
  3. Change BIOS Settings:

    • Enter the BIOS setup by pressing Esc or F10 during startup.
    • Look for settings related to SATA mode and ensure it is set to AHCI.
    • Save changes and exit the BIOS.
  4. Clean the Disk:

    • Boot from the Windows installation media.
    • When you reach the error message, press Shift + F10 to open Command Prompt.
    • Type the following commands:
      diskpart
      list disk
select disk 0 (replace 0 with the disk number where you want to install Windows)
      clean
      exit

    • Close the Command Prompt and restart the installation process.
  5. Use a Different USB Drive: Sometimes, the USB drive itself can be an issue. Try using a different USB drive to create the installation media.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, you might want to contact HP Support for further assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on your laptop model.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best Regard,
Gary Byers
