Hello,

my wife is using a 11-ak0293ng notebook for work.

Unfortunately the free space on the 64gb emmc drive is completely full (she uses just some apps and some word documents but the space is nearly full).

My question.... Is it possible to upgrade the emmc drive up to 128 or 256 GB?

Thank you very much for your help!

@ChristianStein,

No, the storage of the HP Stream Laptop 11-ak0293ng cannot be upgraded. The 64GB eMMC storage is soldered directly onto the motherboard. Unlike traditional laptops with an M.2 or SATA SSD slot, the HP Stream series is designed as a low-cost, cloud-centric device with non-upgradable storage.

However, you can expand storage using:

  1. A microSD card – The laptop has a microSD card slot, allowing for additional storage (e.g., 128GB or 256GB).
  2. External USB storage – You can use a USB flash drive or an external SSD/HDD.
  3. Cloud storage – HP Stream laptops are optimized for cloud-based storage solutions like OneDrive and Google Drive.

If you need more internal storage, you might need to consider a different laptop with upgradeable SSD options.
