Does this product support active pens, and if so what technologies?

I received no manual in the package and the details on your website are too sparse.

The following pens (styluses) are compatible with HP Envy 13ayxxxx machines

Stylus (Sunwoda stylus active pen):

  • In dark ash silver finish part # 920241-001
  • In natural silver finish part # 910942-001

Regards.

Thank you for your swift response, but what is the underlying technology in use for this model?

Examples:

  • Wacom (AES 1.0, 2.0 etc)
  • MPP (1.51, 2.0, etc)
  • N-trig
  • Something else?

Your suggested pens also seem to be discontinued which is another reason why I need to know the actual technology. Searching by the "part number" it is indeed out of stock or listed as discontinued everywhere. If instead searching by the model number (which I only found by coincidence....), 1MR94AA, I found several shops selling it.

Can you clarify your response a bit, which of the following statements is true?

1. 13ayxxxx models all use the same technology

2. 13ayxxxx models use different technologies, but the Sunwoda pen supports them all

As an aside, I had to create a new account, "Username not found"...

@Banhien

I have done some deep diving investigation, are you able to double check and validate these findings?

- The shop searchable model number of the pen is 1MR94AA [1] and it is using N-Trig [2]
- All 13ayxxxx models support MPP, but actual version may differ (1.0, 1.51, 2.0) [3]. There is absolutely no way for a customer to know which models use which version

Microsoft acquired the N-Trig technology and started marketing it as MPP. MPP is forwards compatible (not backwards!) which is why the pen will work with 13ayxxxx models.

[2]: "Latest N-trig technology" - https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-pen

[3]: Sorry no source. On a HP store page I had found a compatibility tab for, I believe, "HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen", which listed select Envy 13ayxxxx models. Now I can't find it again.

I ordered the "HP Pen" (1MR94AA) and it is working as expected, meaning 13-ay1336no supports N-Trig, but likely not newer MPP versions since as per your quote only this pen is compatible. Of course that should mean any N-Trig pen should work as well.

Thank you for the continued monologue.
