Hi guys, I am new here, hope I post in the right section. I am a happy owner of an Omen 16.1 (2023) with I7 13700HX and 4070m, the only problem was the CPU temp. Long story short, I opened the laptop, disconnected the battery and removed the cooler I found a terrible low amount of paste on the CPU die and GPU memory (GPU die was ok). So, I cleaned everything and replaced the paste.
After reassembling everything (and the subsequent CMOS reset due to the removed battery) everything is working fine, but I now have no longer access to overclock/undervolt in both Throttlestop (options are grayed out and not selectable for voltage offsets) and Intel XTU (overclocking is disabled on this system). As expected by an HX intel cpu before I was able to modify these paramenters.
I thought it was a Windows bug, but the problem persists even after a clean install of the OS. It seems to me that it's some undervoltage protection or unlock CPU BIOS setting due to the CMOS, but there are no options in the Omen BIOS that seem to help (or at least in the normal Omen UEFI). Any ideas? I think there should be an "advanced bios" menu somewhere, but I have no clue.
PS, in the Omen gaming hub undervolting is still possible.
