I am thinking of adding RAM to my HP 14-bs072tx but I cannot confirm if there is a extra memory slot available for upgrade. If there is a extra memory slot, what RAM is advised to be bought in terms of size limit and/or brand?

Hi,
Your PC supports max 16GB of DDR4-2133 Mhz RAM (2x8Gb) Sodimm
You should use 2400Mhz sticks which will run at 2133 Mhz. You can see various configurations and steps to upgrade RAM on page 2 and 49 of service manual.

You can also look at these HP videos for your model (click on memory module in list on left)
