hp 15-ac184tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP 15-ac184u laptop which has DDR3 14900 1866mhz 4gb ram and i want to upgrade it.

point is that i am getting 8gb and 4gb ram sticks of 14900 segment at almost similar price.

what would be a better choice?

4+4 as i have heard its better to keep them equal.

or the 4+8 is going to bring more benefit than 4+4 setup?

Thanks.

You can use 4GB+4GB or 4GB+8GB or 8GB+8GB. When BOTH slots use same RAM machine will run dual channels otherwise it will run single channel.

I highly recommend 8GB+8GB (max), you only have to pay a bit more

ok.

dual channel 4+4

or

single channel 8 ?

because my workload is not too much to justify spending much for 16gb ram.
