Hi there,

 

I recently got a second hand 15-af148ca and it currently has the Canadian multilingual non-backlit keyboard.

I don't need the French support and I'd love to have a backlight on this machine.

 

I've seen backlit keyboards for this machine on eBay and Amazon but I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if a retrofit has a reasonable chance of success or if there's some way I can check this particular model for evidence that it would be supported. The seller on eBay told me it might be unsupported at a BIOS level even if the everything fits.

This keyboard is not suitable for your computer. Your computer is not suitable for using a backlit keyboard, but I have seen related questions before, and someone answered that you can do this, but how to solve it is not clear?
