Has anyone with this model fitted with a i5-7200U processor managed to install F.56 BIOS?

01 biosdetails.jpg

Been trying to update the BIOS on a 15-au185sa laptop.  It currently has version F.55 installed, and in December 2020 version F.56 was released.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-15-au100-notebook-pc/12499208/model/135...

File sp111733.exe

The update can not be performed within Windows as Update option is greyed out with message "This BIOS update is blocked on this device"

Extracting the BIOS files provides three versions:

0820D.bin

0820D.s12

08209.bin

08209.s12

08217.bin

08217.s12

I've installed HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI program version 7.6.2.0.  Then spam press Escape key when rebooting.  Select F2 for System Diagnostics, then Firmware Management.  It lists a 08213.bin, but that version isn't included in the update, and if I select 08213 I get a red message "The selected BIOS image was not available.  you may select an alternative image file, or cancel the update"

I've seen mentioned elsewhere (for a different model) that 08213 bios relates to Kaby Lake U processors.  And even though I can select the other files to get below image (thinking update will happen).

The update doesn't proceed and just presented with following message.

Hi, have you tried running the BIOS update in the Windows environment and not in bios?

There is only one application file called InsydeFlash.  Installed in C:\SWSetup\sp111733.

Activating the file brings up an extraction progress bar and then the HP BIOS Update and Recovery program starts.  Clicking next button then brings up the second screenshot in my original post, where the Update option is greyed out.

I don't know where the extracted files are stored, or if contents are just stored in memory.

Has anyone else has successfully updated BIOS to F.56 on a system with a i5-7200U processor?
