Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Cloned existing HDD to 500 GB SSD as it was terribly slow. after cloning SSD drive shows fine as an external drive but in bios boot manager, SSD does not show up and having trouble booting from the new drive.

As per the Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04825536, the Notebook supports the following SSD

 

 

You can also try updating the BIOS and check if that helps
