I have a Hp 15-r011dx and am looking to upgrade to a wifi card with Bluetooth. This laptop is old but I believe it can still keep up with faster WiFi speeds via card upgrades. I have upgraded the ram to 8 gigs as well. Anything else I can do mod wise? Thanks in advance.

Hi:

Unfortunately, your notebook only has one antenna wire, so you can't upgrade to a better performing wifi adapter unless you order the dual antenna kit listed in chapter 3 of the service manual, completely disassemble the notebook including the display bezel to add a second antenna wire.

However, you can upgrade to a single band Wi-Fi card with Bluetooth:

Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11bgn 1×1 + BT 4 LE Combo Adapter for    HP part # 753077-001

Your notebook only has one memory slot, so you will have to replace the 4 GB memory chip and install an 8 GB memory chip, which is the max the slot can support.

Below is the link to the service manual.
