Why doesn't HP have a support email that I can just send a message too?
Anyway I have a quick question about clarification of the specifications for 15ba009dx. It currently has a SSD drive but the manual makes a reference to a M.2 connector that appears to be in the same place. Can the 15ba009dx accommodate a SSD and an additional M.2 drive as well? In other words can the 15ba009dx have 2 harddrives at the same time?
Thank you

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05281438
which shows it has 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA. Did you upgrade it to 2.5" SSD ? Your machine does not have M.2 SSD slot. Crucial also sees that

Manual is for the whole series, not just your machine therefore some models/products have dual storage options.
Regards.

Hello Banhien,
No I did not upgrade the drive. I was thinking it would be neat that in addition to my stock SATA drive I could plug in another drive in the M.2 slot but I was not sure that was possible as the manual I have was not very clear if I could do that. Thank you for clarifying that the manual was for the whole series and not just my model.
By any chance is there a manual that is specific to 15ba009dx?
Cheers
Robert

No model in that series has an M.2 slot. Manuals are written for a model series not single models. To have an M.2 you must use an adapter plate instead of the hard drive not in addition to and that actually does not make sense to do. As you have done you can just put an SSD in place of the hard drive using the original caddy and cable as long as it is a 2.5 inch SATA SSD not an M.2 type. See p. 56 of the Manual here:

I explained. You can have an M.2 but to do that you use an adapter plate and cable so the M.2 fits in THE SAME PLACE where you would put the hard drive meaning you cannot have both. Its a silly arrangement because you can achieve the same performace using a 2.5 inch SATA SSD which mounts and attaches using the same hardware as a hard drive, which you already have.
There is no M.2 slot on the motherboard.
Clear enough?

Did the manual just meant M-2 form factor
Yes, that is it.

Thanks Ban and Huffer. It is clear now. You have clarified there is no M.2 slot, just M.2 shaped form factor, an M.2 adaptor would go in the same spot as the harddrive thus I cannot have two drives.
Maybe you guys should write the manuals.
Cheers
Robert.
