Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, just a few quick questions I'm trying to figure out before I make some purchases. They are all memory questions. The memory from the factory is 8Gb and has a speed of 2666Mhz. The processor claims it can handle up to 41Gb/s and up to 64Gb. Is it possible to use 32Gb in this laptop (2, 16Gb chips)? Does the laptop support 3200Mhz memory or is it stuck to the factory 2666Mhz? I will alsi be upgrading from the 250Gb PCIe hard drive to a 1Tb PCIe but I don't see an obvious issue here unless someone knows otherwise?

Upgrading the M.2 to 1 TB is not a problem. Get a premium product like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus. May cost a bit more but it will reliably operate at 3200-3500 mbps read speed which is why you have an NVME/PCIe M.2. On the memory it will run 2 x 16 = 32 gigs. You cannot make the memory bus run faster than 2666 regardless of the speed of the modules you install and don't bother with "performance" or "low latency" special RAM. Get OEM quality at standard latencies because whatever you put in will also run at CL = 19. Amazon's "house" Timetec Hynix memory is very good and reasonably priced.

Happy to help you locate the Service Manual if you wish.

Great answer, that will save me at least $150 since I now won't be buying the faster memory, I already own the Samsung 970 which I am planning to use here. I am attempting to upgrade because I have trouble running fusion 360 and any newish game on this laptop. Hopefully this will help it out slightly. Kind of new to the whole intel Uhd graphics thing 🙇‍♂️.

More RAM and an SSD will be marginally, very marginally better on graphics intensive tasks. For that you need a dedicated video chip.

Ok, last time I'll bother you I swear lol. I really like my envy. There really isn't a lot of options I like style wise with all the features of this laptop. I have settled on utilizing an eGPU to get to my final goal for this setup along with the Samsung ssd and 32gb of ram. My final question is if the processor can be upgraded in the future for the i7 or even more wishing the new i9? I can afford to just exchange this pc for one with an i7 but I already have my desktop set up on here and I loathe having to re-enter passwords and redownload programs 🙇‍♂️. I would still have to upgrade the ssd and memory anyways as the best one in my range at bestbuy only had 16gb of ram and 500 gigs of hd space. I instantly used all but 8 gigs on this hd within 2 days.

Processor is soldered on and not upgradeable. These days as long as you have an i3 or better the processor is pretty capable. Speed comes from SSD and having at least 16 gigs of memory.
