Just purchased this laptop but haven’t opened the box yet. I would like to know if the ram is upgradable and is there only 1 slot available??

Hi:

HP only has the service manual for the older model 15s-eq models on your notebook's support page (the file that is 8.78 MB).

HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 Manuals | HP® Customer Support

According to chapter 1 of that manual, the notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of memory.

Since your notebook has a much newer processor, no doubt it should support up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

After you set up your notebook, you can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thank you for the reply.

Shortly after posting this I phoned technical support and they said it only had 1 slot and supported a maximum of 8GB.

You're very welcome.

I do not believe that HP support is correct at all.

The crucial memory report for the same model as yours sold in Italy show the same as I posted...2 slots, 32 GB of memory.

I did see that the eq2030nl model supported 32GB so that was why I purchased the eq2030na think it would be the same. I saw on another site say it only had one slot and wasn’t expandable.

I didn’t want to open the laptop to test it in case I had to send it back, which I have already done.
