Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
I see you need help in upgrading the Memory, on HP Pavillion Gaming 15-bc403tx notebook. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you.
After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive installed on the PC.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to go through the Maintenance and Service guide of your HP notebook, and found that your PC supports One M.2 slot for the solid-state drive.
The system memory can be upgradeable up to 16 GB max.
Intel Optane memory module comes in an B and M key, an M.2 form factor that uses a PCIe NVMe connection.
The Optane™ memory must have at least 16 GB capacity, and it must have equal or smaller capacity than the hard drive/SSD to be accelerated. (16 GB (Optane memory) + 1 TB (5400) 9.5mm/7.2mm )
Keep me posted for further assistance.
If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below, followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner, Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. Have a great day

You are wasting money on upgrading the Intel Optane Memory stick...If you got one in your laptop take it out and repalce it with an NVME M.2 stick...this will increase your laptop performance way better then upgrading the Intel op. stick...Everything on your laptop will be faster and boot time is almost instantly!
Get this stick and migrate everything over to the new NVME stick and see it fly...specially if you the laptop is used for gaming!!
The NVME stick will work in the Intel optane slot..its just a PCIe slot..
