hello , i have HP 15-ay503tx core i5 6th generation. now i want to upgrade 16 gb ram for this. so my question is one port in my laptop support 16gb ram. i don't want to use both port as i have single 16gb ram. i seen other discussion where is mentioned about my laptop can only upgrade upto 16gb ram.

That is also what  the Maintenance and Service guide and Crucial Memory states. I suggest that you believe it, unless you can find documentation where someone reputable has verified that it works
