Hi:

The only thing I can think of as to why the memory is running at 1333 MHz is because your model has one of the Intel 2nd gen core or Celeron processors that would run the memory at 1333 MHz.

2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-2450M (2.5 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache, 2 cores)* Up to 3.10 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i3-2370M (2.4 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache, 2 cores)*
2nd Generation Intel® Celeron™ B840 (1.9 GHz, 2 MB L3 cache, 2 cores)

The above 3 processors were listed on page 6 of the 4440s quickspecs as offered selections in the model.

Your notebook would need to have one of the 3rd generation core processors listed on page 6 of the above document for the memory to run at 1600 MHz.

Hi Paul,

The processor in my ProBook 4440s is of intel's 3rd Generation.

-----------------------------------------------

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz

Base speed: 2.50 GHz
Sockets: 1
Cores: 2
Logical processors: 4
Virtualisation: Enabled
L1 cache: 128 KB
L2 cache: 512 KB
L3 cache: 3.0 MB

---------------------------

And i am sure that the laptop supports 1600MHz memory module as it came with 2GB DDR3 PC3 12800 (1600MHz)

Regards,

Amar.

Hi:

I agree with you 100%.  The memory should be working at 1600 MHz.

Why it is only running at 1333 MHz, unfortunately I have no idea.

Since some of those models came with 2nd gen core processors, which run memory at 1333 MHz, that was the only possible reason I thought it could be that.

Something that might be worth experimenting with would be to see if a DDR3L 1866 memory module runs at 1600 MHz.
