Hello! I have the opportunity to buy one of these laptops before they sell out. I know the memory can be upgraded to a maximum of 32GB (2x16GB) of DDR4 2400. However my question is if it can support faster DDR4 or is the chipset memory bus locked in at 2400MHz and it won't run RAM at its rated speed faster than that (JEDEC spec standard to 2400 only?).
It would be used as a productivity laptop so I'd like to get as much performance out of it as possible being a PC builder and knowing faster memory makes a noticeable performance improvement when dealing with an 800Hz speed boost and 3200Hz is noticeable (even in gaming and FPS).
Also along that note I was also wondering if there is a BD-R drive that is compatible with this model (HP GUB0N ?) as it is with my older ProBook 640 G1. I searched the forums and even the web and couldn't find answers for either question specific to this model.
Thanks in advance!

Hi:
The fastest speed the processor in that model can run the memory at is 2400 MHz, so installing faster memory will not do anything.
I wouldn't be able to answer your question regarding the blue ray drive.
Chapter 3 of the service manual only shows a DVD burner is available for that model series.

Perfect that's what I needed to confirm! I was suspect on the memory that would be the case. I'll take out the BD-R drive in my ProBook 640 G1 and see if it works in this when I get it. I'll report back here for future reference for others either way on how that works out however. I was just curious if anyone had tried it on this model.
Thank you!
