Hi All, just bought a laptop model #17-by4013dx and went to change out the memory with DDR4 2666 which is listed on the support page to use. I tried Kingston FURY Impact 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 Laptop Memory Single Stick KF426S16IB/32 and all I get is flashing lights on the caps lock when i try to turn it on. FYI I used 2 diffrent sticks both new out of the box. The memory that came with the laptop is 8gb 1rx8 PC4-3200aa. Can someone tell me what memory is supported with this laptop?

Hi:
Usually, you can't use performance/gaming memory in HP notebooks because it has faster timings than the standard DDR4-3200 memory.
Since there are no BIOS settings to adjust the memory XMP profile or timing speeds, if the notebook can't make the adjustments, the memory won't work.
That is probably the issue you are having.
I always recommend that folks use the standard timing memory that should work.
Crucial doesn't have your exact model listed but the model listed in the link below comes close and should work.
