I asked this a couple of days ago and it got answered but since then I have had my laptop looked at and something came up, I have an HP 17-ca0314ng, it has 1 RAM slot with an 8gb DDR-4 1866 SODIMM I want to upgrade to 16GB but the main board only has 1 slot even though windows said it has 2, could I just put a single 16gb stick in there and how do I find out how what speed my mainboard supports

Hi:
Notebooks with the AMD A6 processors only have one memory slot.
The max you can install in the slot is 1 x 8 GB. DDR4-2400.
Below is the link to the service manual.

If you look at chapter 1, page 2, it shows that there is only one memory slot.
