What gen PCIe version does this laptop use for M.2 SSD? Gen 4 or 3?

 

it matters because or ssd read write speeds

Hi:

 

Your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.

 

Since notebook processors are integral parts of the motherboard, you can look up your NVMe slot's PCIe Generation by looking up the processor specs on the applicable AMD or Intel websites.

 

IAMD Ryzen™ 5 5500U | AMD

 

Under the Connectivity section, you will see that the PCI Express version is 3.0.
