Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was told by a customer rep after inquiring about my order that the service manual for this laptop isn't yet available.

I was told the max upgradable RAM is only 16GB or - 2x8 GB (DDR4 2666).  I found this highly questionable on a 2019 brand new model laptop.

Will someone @ HP please check if I may indeed use 32 GB vs 16, and if they have a service manual available?

Crucial seems to think the model will support 32 GB.

I should note, HP tried to upsell me on an older (albeit faster) Omen 17t 9th gen Intel that will pull a lot more watts idle (no thanks).

Hi,

The RAM is upgradable to 32GB (2x16GB) even if HP mentions 16GB. This is true for all HP DDR4 series from the 7th gen Core onwards. 16GB is the max a notebook in that series can be bought with.

Yes, I can not find the service manual for the 17-ce1000 however you can take a look at the one for the 17-ce0000 which should be very similar.

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks for your input.  Do you have a link to the older manual?  Where are you finding these links at?

You're welcome.

Sorry, I thought I had added the link.
