I have a HP 14-cfxxxxxx laptop running on a 2.59ghz processor, currently with a 4gb ram and it is slow as hell. I want to make an upgrade to an 8gb ram and I would love to know if the processor will support such upgrade

Hi:
There are two things you can do to greatly enhance the performance of your notebook.
1. You can install a much better performing M.2 NVMe solid state drive (SSD) and remove the 2.5" mechanical hard drive or use it for storage only.
2. Your notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz memory.
Below is the link to the service manual where can find the memory and M.2 SSD and memory installation procedure.
