Welcome to the HP Forums!
This is a wonderful place to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.
I reviewed your post and understand that you want to know whether you can upgrade the battery on your computer.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
I checked the specifications of your computer and see that there is only 3-cell, 41-WHr, 3.6-AHr, Li-ion battery available for your computer which is tested by HP.
I recommend you check online and see if you find any compatible battery for the computer.
Please refer to the below service manual for your computer for more information.

If that's the case would they be considered safe?
And how would I know it's compatible with this model?

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
You can log in to HP shopping website and check in the accessories section for a replacement battery for your computer.
HP doesn't recommend using 3rd party batteries and you do so at your own discretion.
Hope that answers your question.
