HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f1000 (508S1AV)

Three of the keys on my laptop have stopped working.  I sent it in under warranty and the warranty expired while HP had it.  The outer shell of my computer has damage but the keys stopped working long before that.  I've been using an external key board since before Christmas.  Anyway, they are telling me the 3 keys don't work because of the outside damage.  They sent me an email that goes to an unmonitored box and a phone number that requires an agent 6 digit code, which they didn't give me.  They want $429 to fix the computer saying it was damage I did.  I am a sophomore in college and don't have $429 to fix the keyboard on my one year and 3 day old computer.   Do you think this is something I could fix locally or on my own for less money?

It would help to have the SKU or HP Product number.

What you provided as identification is only the generic identification for the model series, which does not show the actual hardware configuration.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.

The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.

The keyboard price isn't really that high. Replacing it would be better done by someone who knows how in order to mitigate the risk involving replacing the top cover/keyboard.
