Spectre x360 15-bl131ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I own a Spectre x360 15-bl131ng with 16 GB RAM and I'd like to upgrade it to 32 GB RAM using two 16 GB cards.

According to German support the handbook says only 16 GB are compatible but I was told to continue asking since HP Support said 32 GB might be possible though they cannot grant it, i7-8550U and chipset are compatible, they are not sure about the mainboard.

It would be great if someone who may have tried upgrading RAM on this system, shared his experience with me.

Thanks for your help!

We have had numerous reports of success on 7th and 8th gen Intel Core systems running DDR4 memory with 2 x 16 gig modules for 32 gigs total.

Resellers are offering very similar models on US amazon.com configured with 32 gigs of memory and this is probably the best objective evidence I can provide:

If I thought I needed 32 gigs of RAM (and at todays memory prices I would make sure I really do) I would not hesitate to buy a pair of 16 gig modules and install them as I am about 99% sure it will work.

Hi Guys, I did see the videos posted on youtube showing the sodimm slots as being upgradable, so I proceeded to order the 2x 16 sticks of DD4 Kingston HyperX , Part No. HX424S14IBK2/32 , specs are 32 GB DDR4-2400 MHz CL14 SODIMM (kit of 2x 16gb sticks).

I have successfully installed this in my Oz delivered HP Spectre x360 15" Part. 3WP19PA, 15-CH008TX, which came with 16 Gb DDR4 ram with the 1.0 TB SSD.

It booted up fine no BIOS issues at all.

Cheers Lou.
