Hi there!
I've red in this question - https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/laptop-ram-upgrade/m-p/6579028...
that HP DDR4 systems will probably run with 32GB of RAM...
I've currently 16gb installed. was thinking to get 2x16gb if this will work. Will it not harm the motherboard? i just want to be sure before upgrading.
Thanks!

Hi:
I'm not 100% sure that 32 GB will work.
Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.
Crucial usually states what the max is even beyond the manufacturer's specs, and in this case they don't.
https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-15-bs162sa
The problem is, that even though the reply was accepted as a solution, we never heard back from the original poster that installing 32 GB actually worked.
However, it is generally true that HP notebooks with Intel 8th gen processors will support 32 GB of memory.
If you want to experiment with 2 x 16 GB of memory, that should not damage your notebook.
It will either work fine and report 32 GB, or it won't boot up.
