I have a HP 14 laptop with a 4 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) . I would like to know if it has an extra slot to upgrade it to 8gb ram.

Hi:
HP only has the service manual for the older 14-cf1xxx model series with the Intel 8th gen core processors.
According to chapter 1 of the manual, since your notebook has an Intel core processor, it has two memory slots and will support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz memory.
