Hello, I have recently purchased Hp Elitebook 840 G5 (i5 8th gen)
i want to know can I use HP 90 watt charger to charge my laptop or will it harm the battery or the laptop? kindly assist.

Yes, you can safely use a 90 watt charger, provided that according to HP PartSurfer, a charger for your HP EliteBook 840 G5 Base Model Notebook PC needs to be a "smart charger", must have a "4.5mm barrel connector" (see picture) and provide 19.5 v output, such as this charger, for example: Amazon.com: 90W Smart AC Adapter Charger Fit for HP 937532-850 710413-001 Laptop Power Supply UL Lis....
