Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the firmware and OS updates the browsers have slowed so much and are jerky, Text takes seconds to display.  Tabs take seconds to open. Scrolling is jerky. Screen drop-down lists take seconds to display. How can I fix this?

It would be very unusual for a BIOS update or Windows update to suddenly make your laptop a slowpoke. Much more likely a hardware issue, and of those most likely a hard drive issue. I suggest a diagnostic test. Post back if you need to discuss how to do that.

Which model laptop and which firmware did you install onto it?

HP Laptop - 15-dw2025cl. I do not know what firmware. I saw that word in the update message and then I saw an update made to the OS . This was an update that came in on 12/6/2021. If I look at the event log there are lots of errors for Distributed COM and Kernel Event Tracing. Note I know how to look for things on my computer but I know  just enough to be dangerous
