Product: HP Laptop 15-bs158sa
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have removed the battery and am now using AC to power the laptop. I have noticed that all four cores are running at maximum capacity all the time, whereas they did not when powered by the battery. Is this laptop designed to be used like this?

HP Recommended

No its designed to have a battery but will work like that. Everything else equal it should have a battery. For one thing, the main battery now serves the part of being the CMOS/RTC battery.
