“How do I update the driver on my HP laptop running Windows 11? The microphone is not working, and I need to install/update the correct audio driver.”

On the HP Support website, click Support > Software & drivers near the top of the page, then select Laptop, enter your Serial Number, choose the correct operating system, and download the latest driver from the Driver-Audio section.

If the microphone still does not work after reinstalling the driver, I recommend pressing F2 repeatedly during startup to launch HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, then running the Audio Test. If the microphone fails the test or no audio is detected during testing, the issue may be hardware-related and further inspection at an HP Authorized Service Center would be recommended.
